It is said that you only can see the realization of a sage by the silence he radiates. There might be additional evidence of being settled in the formlessness: if you become very playful and your whole life is just joy you might produce many poems like Rumi used to do.
This is what he said in a poem about his beloved:
"In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art." (Rumi)
And although his body is not alive anymore the words go directly into your heart, touching the inner being to inspire you to go towards the Divine. If words have this power, they flow directly out of the eternal source of being. This is evidence.
